Haïti
You are traveling to HAÏTI for your Christmas break. You will be there at least one week. You may stay longer if you wish. Write a travel account of your trip.. Include the following informationinyour report. Keep track of the sites you take the information from and list them at the end of your journal. Location:
1. Where is the island located.
2. Describe its geography, include the names and location of mountain ranges, rivers and
other important geographical sites.
3. Give the names of 3 major cities and their location relative to the capital city.
4. Describe the climate you will experience at this time of the year.
5. What kinds of special Christmas celebrations did you experience.
Visit:
From Porte-au-Prince, where you arrive, you will travel to three other locations of your choice. Choose the places so that you will begin and end in Porte-au-Prince. Make sure that you includes Porte-au-Prince as well. Choose a method of transportation that will allow you to see as much of the countryside as possible, by car, by bus, by bicycle on foot...
Begin with brief history of the island, how and why it came to be a DOM.
Find a picture of each of the cities or sites you are visiting, comment on what it represents, why you are there and give some details of your visit there. Illustrate with pictures of what you see aong the way. Also, don’t forget to bring back a typical souvenir of the country.
Don't forget to eat. Go to one of the food sites and find the recipe of something you ate and really enjoyed. Include a copy of the recipe in your report. (Possible food feast)
Post Card:
Now that you have visited Haïti, it is time to sent a post card to your French teacher, “en français”, of course. Choose one of your pictures for the front of your post card. On the "back" of your post card, write a message saying where you are, what you did, what the picture shows and what you liked about the visit. Give the weather and how much longer you are going to stay in Martiniuqe. Your goal is 25-30 well written sentences in French. Pay attention to grammar, verb tenses... You want to be as descriptive as possible. You need to make me see what you see with all the details necessary to accomplish this.
